Welcome! Yes, all of our embroidery and cross-stitch kits are designed to be beginner friendly. Every kit comes with digital step-by-step instructions, a stick-down, wash away pattern, and enough materials to complete the project as a beginner.
We also offer a wide range of tutorials and free resources on our social media pages (and intend on importing those resources to this website very soon).

Our products come with everything you need in order to stitch the pattern (except for scissors). Every kit includes a stick down, wash away pattern, an embroidery hoop, digital instructions that download to your phone, bobbins to keep your thread nice and tidy, and a full skein of every color: more than enough to complete your project and start your own thread collection.

Every kit comes with digital step-by-step instructions. These instructions can be accessed by typing the link on the back of your tag or insert into the search bar of a web browser. From there, you will be able to download the instructions to your phone, tablet, or computer. Please note that the link is case sensitive.
If you accidentally lose or throw away your tag or insert, please email us at capitalstitchco@gmail.com. We will be happy to send you the link.

Every kit comes with an adhesive “stick and stitch” pattern made out of water soluble stabilizer. The patch attaches to the top layer of your fabric in the same way that any other sticker: simply peel it off its backing and place it onto the fabric. Then you can stitch directly through the stabilizer.
When you are done with your embroidery piece, remove it from the hoop and run the cloth underwater. The stick and stitch pattern will dissolve and wash away.

If your fabric is creased, we recommend ironing it before you start. Loosen the screw at the top of the embroidery hoop and pull apart the inner and outer rings. Place the two pieces of fabric flat on the table, stacked one on top of the other. Then grab the adhesive pattern sticker, peel off the backing, and stick it down in the center of the top layer of fabric. Drape both layers of fabric over the smaller, inner hoop, taking care to ensure that the pattern remains in the center. Secure it in place by pressing the bigger hoop on top. Secure by tightening the screw.

Unless otherwise specified by the pattern instructions, you will be working with all six (6) strands in an embroidery kit design.
Unless otherwise specified by the pattern instructions, you will be working with three (3) strands in an cross-stitch kit design.

Oh no! This is an exceedingly rare event, but it happens. We make all of the kits ourselves, and we are only human.
If you ever receive a kit and you think a piece is missing, please let us know by emailing us at capitalstitchco@gmail.com We will replace the piece and ship it out to you right away.

Embroidery is actually beneficial for your health. Many studies show that incorporating a craft practice into a patient’s routine produces measurable improvements in people with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Furthermore, a repetitive, hand oriented craft prevents you from doomscrolling, which we all know has a negative impact on our mental health and overall wellbeing.
Crafts are good for you!

Yes, all of the materials contained within our embroidery kits are 100% biodegradable. Unfortunately, due to the fact that components of our kits can be destroyed by the elements, we could not compromise when it came to the plastic outer packaging. That said, we worked incredibly hard to ensure that our product overall was as eco-friendly as possible.

I started embroidering during the first year of the pandemic, and quickly learned just how therapeutic it was to work with your hands. I was working a high stress job at the time and recognized that many people could benefit from a craft practice, but didn’t have the time to teach themselves. By chance, a local shop asked us to make a kit - and the rest was history.

Every physical kit design we have is sold through our Etsy shop year round. All of our digital patterns are listed on our Patreon, either accessible with club membership or, if their membership time has expired, are accessible through our Patreon digital store.
We are always open to new suggestions for patterns and designs. As a small shop, however, we can only make so many new designs per year.
We do consider custom corporate orders on a case by case basis. If you are a company seeking to partner with us on an exclusive design, please email us at capitalstitchco@gmail.com.

Thank you! There are three ways you can support our brand.
To purchase our physical products, please check out our Etsy shop for the time being. Our website shop is still under construction, and will be launched June 2026.
You can also join our monthly pattern club on Patreon, where you’ll receive a new pattern and access to bonus content.
Finally, you can purchase a small selection of our products from the stores in your area and support local! All of our store partners are listed in the dropdown menu above. If you don’t see a shop local to you, feel free to let us know about the coolest shops in your area and we will pitch our products to them.

While we created the Patreon so that we could expand the scope of our embroidery designs, each monthly pattern still comes with all of the beginner resources that a physical product pattern would contain (i.e. supplies list, color guide, stitch guide, setup instructions, step-by-step instructions, and illustrated stitch tutorials for every stitch type). You’ll just have to gather the supplies yourself.

Generally, I do not take on custom commissions. This is due in part to the fact that I am an incredibly proficient but slow embroiderer, and in part, due in part to the limitations of my chronic illness.
